The Clearing House Picks Quant For US Tokenized Deposit Network

The Clearing House has selected blockchain infrastructure firm Quant to serve as the interoperability and transaction-management layer for its On-Chain Money Initiative. The partnership positions Quant at the center of a planned U.S. tokenized deposit network designed to allow financial institutions to clear and settle tokenized deposits on a shared infrastructure. Participating institutions are expected to gain access to the network during the first half of 2027.

The Clearing House operates two of the United States' most critical payment systems — the Real-Time Payments network (RTP) and the Clearing House Interbank Payments System (CHIPS), which collectively process trillions of dollars in transactions annually. The On-Chain Money Initiative aims to bridge traditional payment rails with emerging blockchain-based settlement infrastructure, allowing tokenized deposits to move seamlessly alongside existing dollar-denominated transactions.

The selection of Quant signals growing institutional confidence in blockchain interoperability solutions as a foundational component of next-generation financial infrastructure. By connecting tokenized deposit functionality directly to RTP and CHIPS, the network could reduce settlement friction, lower counterparty risk, and open pathways for broader adoption of on-chain finance among regulated U.S. banks and financial institutions.

With a 2027 access window confirmed, industry observers will be watching which financial institutions commit to early participation and whether the initiative influences regulatory discussions around tokenized deposits and digital asset settlement standards in the United States.
