Ripple, Robinhood expand partnership to bring RLUSD to retail and institutional markets
Ripple also expanded its collaboration with BNY on digital asset custody and partnered with C2FO to bring trade finance settlement onto the XRP Ledger.
Ripple has expanded its partnership with Robinhood to distribute its RLUSD stablecoin across both retail and institutional markets. The move signals a broader push by Ripple to increase the circulation and utility of RLUSD, its dollar-pegged stablecoin, through one of the most widely used retail trading platforms in the United States. Alongside the Robinhood deal, Ripple also deepened its collaboration with BNY on digital asset custody and announced a new partnership with working capital marketplace C2FO to bring trade finance settlement onto the XRP Ledger.
Ripple launched RLUSD in late 2024 after receiving approval from the New York Department of Financial Services. The stablecoin is designed to operate on both the XRP Ledger and the Ethereum network. Ripple has positioned RLUSD as a key component of its cross-border payments infrastructure, targeting both enterprise clients and retail users seeking a regulated, dollar-backed digital asset.
The expanded distribution through Robinhood's platform could significantly increase RLUSD's retail reach, while the BNY custody collaboration adds institutional-grade infrastructure to Ripple's ecosystem. The C2FO partnership introduces a practical settlement use case for the XRP Ledger in the trade finance sector, an area traditionally dominated by legacy banking rails.
Market observers will be watching how quickly RLUSD adoption grows across these new channels and whether additional institutional partners follow BNY and C2FO in building on Ripple's infrastructure in the months ahead.
